How do I pay for my money transfer?

Both the amount that you are sending and any applicable fees from MoneyGram will be taken directly from the balance of the AccountNow account that you are currently logged into. The funds will be removed from your current balance as soon as you complete the transfer. If you do not have a sufficient balance to cover the transfer, we will give you the option to either lower the amount that you are sending, or add more funds to your account.

Why am I being asked to provide answers to security questions before I can send money?

Periodically, we may ask you to provide answers to the security questions you created when you setup your username and password and/or answers to questions that only you would know. To protect the security of your account, we will require that you answer these questions whenever you request to send money to someone you haven’t sent money to before. Therefore, if you send money to many different people in multiple locations, you will be asked to answer these questions more often than if you were sending money to the same person. This security measure is intended to protect the money on your account from being transferred to people you don’t know, without your permission. We appreciate your understanding on this matter.

Why am I unable to add a recipient and/or use the Send Money feature?

Before adding a new receiver, customers are required to answer security questions. When presented with these questions, you were unable to answer them successfully or complete them in the time allotted. As a security precaution, you will be unable to use the Send Money feature at this time. We will notify you once you are able to add a recipient and use the feature again. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the security of your account is our top priority.

May I cancel my transaction after it has been submitted?

Yes, but we would highly recommend that you double-check your transfer before completing it, because any refunds due from a cancelled, previously submitted money transfer may take up to 7 business days to be returned to your account. If the receiver has already picked up your money transfer, you may not cancel the transaction through AccountNow or MoneyGram. In this case, please contact the receiver personally to discuss the return of your funds.

I am aware of the cancellation process and still wish to cancel a money transfer that has not yet been picked up by the receiver. How do I do that?

Please contact AccountNow Customer Service. Please remember that AccountNow or MoneyGram cannot cancel a money transfer that has already been picked up by the receiver. In this case, please contact the receiver personally to discuss the return of your funds. Please consult the Send Money Terms and Conditions for additional details.

How much money can I transfer using this service?

You may transfer up to $899.99 or five transactions per day, whichever comes first. You may transfer up to $3,000 or 30 transactions in a rolling 30 day period, whichever comes first. These limits are tied to you as an individual, so if you have multiple accounts, the limits are shared between them.

Where can the receiver pick up the funds?

How long will it be before the receiver can pick up the funds?

Most transfers within the United States and Mexico will be ready for pick up within 10 minutes subject to agent hours and availability. Other countries and locations may take longer, but should be available for same day pickup, depending on when you complete your transaction.
